"Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!"

Alright, ya'll ready? So, for the scoring, I'm mostly looking at the lyrics, the guitar solos and riffs, and the overall presentation of the song. Everything is rated on a scale from 1-10.

The first of Megadeth's many albums is entitled "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!" This album was first released in 1985 and marked the beginning of an era in music. Dave Mustaine, lead singer and lead guitarist, had started this album after his departure from Metallica. Dave has said that he wanted to be heavier, faster, and more aggressive than Metallica, and this album is very much so. This was the first true "thrash" album in the metal genre. This album has plenty of great guitar riffs, super guitar solos, fast drums, and Dave's signature snarl singing.
Now on to the track list.

1. "Last Rites/Loved To Death"- This song begins with a piano, which for Megadeth is rare. It has an eerie sound to it and after a short while, the song gets really heavy. This song really showcases Dave's singing level. In this song, he shows exactly how powerful his lungs are. The drums and guitar are equal in their intensities, as well as the bass guitar. While it is very intense, it does lack in some areas.
Guitar Riffs - 7
Guitar Solos - 6
Singing - 5
Lyrics - 6
Overall - 7/10

2. "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!"- The title song of the album is one of the best. It features some very good guitar riffs and has plenty of fast drumming. This is a well written metal song.
Guitar Riffs - 8
Guitar Solos - 8
Singing - 7
Lyrics - 6
Overall - 8/10

3. "The Skull Beneath The Skin"- Another of the album's great songs, and one of my personal favorites. This song, if you listen closely, has some very good lyrics. This could very well be the first of many songs Dave has written with a hidden meaning, and it showcases his writing ability more than most on this album.
Guitar Riffs - 8
Guitar Solos - 8
Singing - 6
Lyrics - 6
Overall - 7

4. "Rattlehead"- This song was written for the Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead. This song has two very good solos near the beginning and ending of the song. Lyrics are also decent.
Guitar Riffs - 8
Guitar Solos - 7
Singing - 5
Lyrics - 5
Overall - 7

5. "Chosen Ones"- Lyrically, one of the best songs on this album. The riffs and solos compliment the lyrics very well. There isn't much else to this song besides what is on the others.
Guitar Riffs - 6
Guitar Solos - 7
Singing - 7
Lyrics - 8
Overall - 7

6. "Looking Down The Cross"- This song was intended to be a representation of what Jesus saw as he was on his cross. Very well written song both musically and lyrically. This is Dave's first real crack at a religious song and the end result isn't too shabby.
Guitar Riffs - 7
Guitar Solos - 7
Singing - 6
Lyrics - 9
Overall - 8

7. "Mechanix"- There are two different versions of this song. Technically, "Mechanix" was written first by Dave Mustaine and is about a horny auto mechanic (weird, I know). The other song is called "The Four Horsemen" and is featured on Metallica's first album "Kill 'Em All." "Mechanix" is a lot faster than "The Four Horsemen" and I think it sounds much better as a result. A good 'ole fashioned thrash song.
Guitar Riffs - 9
Guitar Solos - 9
Singing - 8
Lyrics - 5
Overall - 9

8. "These Boots"- A cover song of the original with the same name. This is a lot heavier as you can imagine if you have ever heard the other versions. This song is actually about strippers rather than what ever the first was about. This song is not my most favorite of the album, but not too bad. I have heard worse.
Guitar Riffs - 6
Guitar Solos - 6
Singing - 5
Lyrics - 5
Overall - 5

The first of Megadeth's albums does very well. Since there is little to compare the album to, it receives an 8/10 as it's final score. Megadeth set the bar with this album as an example of what real metal music is all about, and that bar was pretty high. Stay tuned for next week as I review the second album, "Peace Sells...But Who's Buyin'?" And if anyone wants me to put the music up with the albums I rate, just send me a message or something and I'll be glad to. Until next week, later!

MEGADETH

Just in case you are new, let me bring you up to speed: I love metal music. My favorite band of all time is Megadeth. Yes, I know it's misspelled. It was purposefully done like that by founder and front-man, Dave Mustaine. Megadeth was first formed in the 1980's by Dave after he was kicked from his old band. Most of you know Metallica, right? Well, that was the first band he was in. To make a really long story short, he had a bad problem with drugs and alcohol. He was also very unruly and didn't get along with Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich. Of course, not many people can get along with Lars. So, due to the various conflicts with Dave and Metallica, he was kicked from the band, and in an attempt to get back at them, started Megadeth. The name Megadeth is a deliberate misspelling of the word megadeath which means 1000 deaths. But enough of that. I am not here to give the history of Megadeth. Instead, I am going to rate all of their albums from Killing Is My Business to United Abominations. Each week, I'll do a different album starting this time with "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!" The albums will be done in order by the year they were released, and once the new album is out, I'll do that one too. Each album will have a specific set of points that I will cover, and I will give scores accordingly. I hope you enjoy this, I will. So, without any further ado....

My Scariest Nightmare - The Uninvited Contest

I rarely have dreams that I remember, but this one still stands out even after three years or so. Now, most dreams that I have had were and are in third person. This one was in first person. The dream began kinda slow. I was looking for something, but I had no idea what, and for some odd reason I was in a clothing store. Then, all of a sudden, I was approached by this man. He stood a few inches above me, and he was dressed in a suit. He had short, black hair, and had a full goatee on is chin. His eyes were very dark and I couldnt see them very well. He then began to speak to me, and when he did, his eyes had a strange glow to them. He didnt blink as he spoke. He said: "You know what will happen if you find the weapon, dont you?" I was a little confused by this, but I responded by a nod. He said, rasing his voice slightly: "I wont let you have it!" He then reached out and grabbed my shirt. I actually felt myself being tuged by his grip, which was probably what freaked me out the most. But then I said, in a voice that was far from my own: "I dont care! I want it!"
"You wont get it." He said, as he smiled maliciuosly. He tightened his grip, and pulled out a small blade. But before he could do anything, I reached out and grabed him by his throat (I felt this too) and I brought him to his nees as I began to choke the life out of him. I felt hot with rage and anger, as if I were standing in a fire. I felt my heart pump. My eyes began to brun with hate. Then, I said: "It will be mine! And I will destroy this entire race!" Then I woke up. My hand was stretched out and I was sweating. My heart was pumping as fast as I have ever felt it, as if I had just run a few miles. I still felt an anger in me, but it quickly subsided.
To me, it wasnt scarry, as it was freaky. I felt as though I was posessed. And to wake up in the position I was in during the dream, added to the freakyness. So, there you have it. That is my scariest dream, that I can remember. I hope you had as much fun reading this as I did writing it.

Have a nice day, asshole!

Been a while since I last posted, but my brain just hatched a new idea for an entry.

Okay, so we all are aware of the stupid customer. You know, the morons that can't seem to realize where the hell they are at? They ask the dumbest questions you could possibly imagine, and still act like they know what they are talking about.

But, there is another type of customer, that I call "The Asshole Customer." These are the douche bags that go through the drive-through on their cell phones and act like they are so much more important than anyone else around them. They wont even look at you half the time and they dont respond when you say something like "Have a nice day."

Why do these people not understand that it is rude to go somewhere where someone waits on you, and they are on a fucking cell phone? I mean, come on! Most places have signs up that state that you will not be tended to , if you are on your phone, which I think is a wonderful idea. I only wish we had a sign like that where I work.

I work at a dry cleaners, and let me tell you, people that come here are so fucking stupid, it is beyond belief. They dont understand that we know what we are doing, and that they know nothing of how the cleaning process even works, yet they still think they know it all. Its just one of those things that gets under your skin, you know?

Well, my little rant is now over. Thanks for reading and I'll see you guys on the flip side.

Crazy crazy

So. It's been a while. I realize I haven't posted much due to the fact that I have been playing too many video games as of late. I just felt like doing a pre update. The next one'll have an excerpt from my second book. Yes, I know, the first isn't quite finished, but bare with me. I'm getting new ideas and it is coming together. It has been a crazy week, though, and it's only wednesday! I still cant believe Tiger Woods came in second in the Masters. Well, later cronies, until next time. I leave you now with part of a conversation I had earlier today:
